FreightParse and SKAI

Both are in Rotterdam and both give every value its source, but SKAI is declaration software that files, and FreightParse is not. Below is what each one's own pages say, side by side, read on 12 October 2026, and where SKAI is the stronger choice.

Forward one shipment's e-mail todocs@freightparse.com

From your work address, with the invoice and packing list as PDFs. In the first reply you accept the trial terms with one button; then that shipment is read, and the goods lines come back in the same thread, usually within 5 minutes. No reply within 10 minutes? Check your junk folder, or write to danil@freightparse.com. Free for 14 days, about 20 pages a day.

Rather accept the terms before you send anything? Use the button above. Or upload in your browser (read in the cloud), or ask a question first.

In short

SKAI is declaration software: it reads a shipment's documents, checks every field against the tariff and the registers, and files the declaration directly with Dutch customs, HMRC and TRACES-NT. Its price is not on the pages read; it starts with a demo on your own documents.

FreightParse does not file. It reads the invoice and packing list into the goods lines and writes them as a file for the declaration software you already use, so you keep filing where you file today. It is run by one person.

Side by side

From each one's own public pages, read on 12 October 2026. Every cell for SKAI links the page it comes from.

Where SKAI is stronger

  • It files the declaration itself, directly with Dutch customs (DMS, NCTS, DECO) and with HMRC, and handles veterinary CHED-P and CHED-D through TRACES-NT. FreightParse does not file.
  • It checks more than it reads: commodity codes against the Dutch tariff database and EU TARIC, VAT numbers through VIES, EORI numbers, and the documents against each other.
  • Customs teams work in it every day, its home page says, at CSI-Fresh, Fidocs and ICL, in four countries. FreightParse has no paying customer yet.
  • A team of six on its about page, in Rotterdam. FreightParse is one person.
  • Single sign-on with your own Microsoft Entra ID.

When FreightParse may fit better

  • You want to keep the declaration software you file in today. SKAI is itself the software you would file in.
  • You want to start without a project: the price is on our page, the trial runs 14 days, and one shipment by e-mail comes back usually within 5 minutes. SKAI counts on a month to go live.
  • Both give each value its source. What differs is what follows: with FreightParse your declarant imports a file into your own software; with SKAI the declaration is built and filed in SKAI.

How this page was made

Everything in the SKAI column comes from SKAI's own public pages, read on 12 October 2026, linked in each cell and listed below. Accuracy figures are left out: each vendor measures in its own way, on its own documents, so the numbers cannot be set side by side; FreightParse's test, its documents and its scoring are public (how it was tested). Prices and features change, so check SKAI's pages before you decide. FreightParse is not affiliated with SKAI. If anything here is wrong or out of date, write to danil@freightparse.com and it will be corrected.
